Picture files don't open maximized.

This may not be important in the overall scheme of things, but I'm a perfectionist and this little problem bothers me no end. I have XP and I'm not a computer pro by any means, but I'd like to resolve this. I'm an artist and have thousands of reference photos. I use Vuepro and have never had a problem with it. A few months ago, a few glitches in XP happened and I thought they were resolved, except photos no longer open maximized. I have to press the square button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. I've consulted Vuepro help, but there is no reference to this. I recall someone mentioning this on a support forum, somewhere, saying Windows is the culprit. I'm sure there's a simple solution, but it escapes me. Can one of you kind people put me out of my misery?

Try->
Open a photo
Press and hold the CTRL Key and drag the photo to the size you want.
While still holding the CTRL key click File Close/Exit

Then open the photo again.

This did not work. From your response, I think perhaps I didn't explain it very well. The photo does not open as a small part of the screen, but when I open the photo, it pretty much fills the screen, but it is not maximized. It opens in a "restore" view. I have to press the maximize button to get it to it's full size state.
Actually, if you like, I can alter a photo and post it. As always, a picture can explain, when words can't.

It's going to be easiest to resize the window to as large as you can get it using Steve's procedure. You can get that view to "look" like it's maximized that way.
