To SP3 or Not
I received a message which requested installation of SP3. I have WinXP Home with SP2. Because it did not seem to be originating from MS, I decided not to download and install. Question: How will I know if I already have it in my PC? If I don't have it, with you recommend I install it?
Also, how will I know if I have DX10 as opposed to DX10.1. Thanks |

I believe dx10 is only available with vista.
As for knowing if you have xp3, I think it would say when you right click my computer and choose properties. It should say there. I would check windows update to see if xp3 is available for you. If it is, I would get it.

XP only supports up to DX9.
You can check which version you have by going to start > run and typing dxdiag That will give you the version, plus all sorts of other information (which you probably don't really need to see if you're just checking the version number)

IF you decide to install SP3, this is the BEST way to do it:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en Yes, I know it says not to use it on only one computer, but do it. Save it to a CD or flash memory drive if you need to use it again later. |
