Microsoft Outlook import
I have had to install a new HD to a machine and put the old HD as a slave, due to windows errors, I am trying to import all e-mails etc from previous version of MS outlook with difficulty, doing a search for *.pst *.pab files on drive D:\ draws a blank is there a program or any way of recovering the old e-mails MS Outlook express was easy but this is not. I have located folders etc but files seem different to newer files.
Thanks for any help. Regards john |

Outlook or Outlook Express?
Windows Explorer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab - there are three options to hide files. You need to disable them... And you'll probably need the following: How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;308421

The problem is not ownership, if I look in D:\Doc & settings\User\Application data\Microsoft I can see Outlook folder and Address book the files in Outlook are, Outlook data file, Outlook.srs and Outlook XML files. the files only seem small i.e 15kb are these the correct files
Address Book is also visible in Address Book Folder and I can open that but how do i import into the Outlook on Drive C:\ if I double click on Address book I can open and in Main Identity view e-mail addresses. Regards john |

In Outlook, click on File->IMPORT and drill down to ->D:\Doc & settings\User\Application data\Microsoft
Where it says "User," it would normally be Your User NAME. |
