Bsod

ok, I'm about to fix this computer once and for all with a really big hammer.

Long story short, I put in a USB bracket that was 'guaranteed' to work with my system. It fried the USB headers and the my GPU. So I replaced the motherboard and am running on its IGP right now. After a nightmare of getting compatible RAM and stopping those BSOD I keep getting driver conflicts and applications that suddenly stop working or close. I deleted and uninstalled every old motherboard driver i could find, I went through MSCONFIG and disabled start up programs and I am in the process of going through the 3td party drivers.

If i can figure out how to take a screen shot I can post it, and I know you guys will want to know what the error codes are.

Is there a free scanning and removal tool available to find the driver/s? I will bite the bullet and reinstall XP instead of spending money on a program, but I would rather not have to lose all my Email contacts and saved emails.

Run chkdsk /r on all your drives.

You can invoke this in safe mode, or you can boot with the XP CD and do it from the repair console.

It turned out it was the new motherboard. I put in the old hardware and the system booted with no issues. So RMAing have gone.
