HP pavilion with wrong MB Problems

I have an HP Pavilion, which was causing problems with LAN connection, when I opened box I find an ASROCK K7S41GX motherboard, so OK I had already re-installed Win XP and nothing else , so got drivers from Asrock site, the LAN driver installs and the Graphics driver install.

Lan has same problem as before looks for ip address but then won't connect Limited or no Connectivity, and if I install Graphic drivers and try and go over 1024 * 768 the desktop picture is partly off screen, I have a 19 " monitor and its as if it would fit on a 22" monitor the screen will move about if I move mouse to bottom or top or left to right etc of screen.

I also connected another LAN card but it won't find the hardware so I can install drivers, also the second Lan card is not shown in Network Connections. ( Lan card was Sweex PCI Card )

Can anyone help. or have I got a duff MB.

Regards John
