dhcp server & directory server
Both the dhcp server and also our directory (domain) server for our network are pretty old, I would like to use one of the newer servers and replace one of them. How hard would it be, or how long would it take to change over the directory server. I know changing the dhcp server would probably be much easier and faster, but I would like to change over the one that would maybe have more of a network performance benefit. The new server (which ever one I decide on doing) would be running server 2003. The current directory server is also running 2003, but it looks like a big Compaq godzilla. (2 400MHz cpu's)
The current dhcp server is newer (HP 2.xGHz dual core cpu) but is running server 2000. This IT manager noob would be thankful for any input!

I think VM Ware would work good for this task. Create and Image of the Current Server and port it to VMWare and that will make it easy to Move it to any server you wish. VM Ware is the Only Virtual ware that I know has this ability. I believe VMware has some pod casts on there web site that Describes this operation.
