Lists of files
I have a large list of files that i wish to save. Just the file names not the actual data itself. I asked this question some time ago and was shown how to do it in a text format which was great. However someone also suggested a way to do it in Excel. Seeing as I am wanting to share some of this information as well as utilise it to assist in sorting my directories, is there a way we could do this?

There are several (at least) free directory printing utilities out there. You can "print" to a text file then import into Excel. Google on:
"print directory" and you'll get a good list to choose from

From a CMD prompt you can type:
DIR >FileName.txt (replace filename with any name you want to create a text doc)

Thanks for the heads up Two Rails - I was utilising the wrong search terms previously. Produced the lists in Tab Separated Values with a file printer and have got just what I want
I used this program for those who were curious: http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptdirprn.asp |

Thanks for posting a link! I didn't know that Karen was still around... I know, years ago, when I use to get PCMag, she produced a lot of good and useful utilities. I'll have to check some of her other ones out
