Adobe CS4 on XPpro
Just got excited call from nephew: seems he won a copy of Adobe's CS4 in a promotional drawing. He can't install it on his work computer, so he has asked me if I would allow him to install it on my Dell. Problem may be that I already have Adobe CS2 installed. Before I grant him computer privledges, should I uninstall my current CS2 before insatlling CS4? I ask this here because MANY years ago while working with Mac OS9, I couldn't install w/o first deleting and was wondering if the same may apply to XP? Thanks.

Shouldn't be a problem. I just installed the same program for my neighbor. She runs a print shop and wanted to be able to do work at home, so she bought another copy of CS4 for me to install on her home machine. She already had CS2 and CS3 on her's, and CS4 installed right alongside them. Afterwards she said I could probably take CS2 off of there because she doesn't use it much, so I just went into Add/Remove Programs and deleted CS2. She said the other day that the other CS programs seem to still be running fine, so I don't think they really "share" any files or are seen as an upgrade to the previous versions, but rather are installed as separate programs in their own directories. Her OS is XP also.

Thanks for the input Juppy. I wasn't even thinking that the 2 Printshops would run next to each other. I've got a few actions I've created and don't want to lose them if I install CS4 .
