BSOD tcpip.sys STOP: 0x00000050

Hello:

My laptop reboots or gives BSOD when returning active from standby.
And even otherwise the sound is garbled/bad. Sometimes when we
reboot the computer sound seems to be ok.. but not all the time.

Not sure if the problem is due to sound card but the BSOD gives
tcpip.sys error with PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Stop: : 0x00000050

Laptop is Toshiba M55, running windows XP. I have updated all device
driver, put in a new RAM, tried to use external wireless adapter (thinking
if tcpip.sys, an USB based one might help) but still keep getting the BSOD.

Please help.

Thanks

Are you using sp3?

Have you run diagnostics on ram and hard drive?

Read these:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/222635/en-us

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903251/en-us If this sounds like it, what antivirus and antispyware scans have you done?

No, I havent installed SP3.

Have run diagnostics on both RAM and hard drive.
Infact now the laptop has a new RAM (but the problem didnt go away).

Also, I have re-installed the OS to factory defaults. So no new software or its drivers are installed. Read through all the microsoft links and none apply. I wonder if some hardware device went bad probably the sound card? since the sound is all garbled. I have dump files. Let me attach those incase it helps to find out the offending device.

Please let me know if you could get any info from the dump files.

Thank you so much.
