A Better Defrag App ?
Both my HD's have 2 partitions. I use Norton Utility's defrag utility and run it each morning (2 am) on a different partition (M-Th). The amount of time this takes is ridiculous. After running and slowing my PC to a crawl for over 6 hours, my 30gig partition was only 75% defragged. Is there a better and FASTER app I could use?

I use Diskeeper Pro in the set it and forget it mode. It runs once or twice a day on each partition and only takes about a minute or so.

+1.
I use Diskeeper Pro 2008 on full auto, and it's really good. Since it defrags in the background, there is no need to worry about defrag times. After a thorough initial post-installation defrag, it has been kicking in for about 3-4 mins per day for me. (Edit: correction) |

GLC,
I installed a trial version of Diskeeper Home. I am impressed with the speed and it finding fragmented files that were supposed to be defragged by Norton. I notice you and a few others use Diskeeper Pro. Any advantage over the Home version? |

I use O&O I swear by it. Just a hint for Norton. I got rid of Norton years ago it is a bad program. Slows your pc down and is really over rated. If you can afford to get a better system go for it.
AVG pro is what I use it's great. Nod 32 is great as well. |

I use AVG 8 Free currently, and I really like it. The other day on my laptop, it was able to catch a trojan, on a flash drive I plugged in, that the corporate version of McAfee missed on another desktop missed.
Previously, I used to use the free AOL/Kaspersky anti-virus and it was great too. Anything is better than Norton in my book.
