Question can't delete file/folder - file system error 1026

I have an ftp application that creates strange file/folder entries if you put a space character after the chosen download file/folder name. if you try to delete these files/folders you get a Win NT message 'error deleting file', with message text 'cannot delete file: file system error (1026)'. whatever application I try, e.g. Norton Disk Doctor, they either have the same delete problem, or can't read the file/folder entries. I just want to get rid of them. how do you do it?
