Is Firefox causing my machine to freeze?

I have an IBM T22 laptop running XP pro. It appears to be a rather stable machine. The only problem is when I run Firefox. It runs smooth for about five minutes and then it locks up the machine. I have attempted to uninstall it and then install it again without success.

I don't know if this has been seen before but if it has not I would be more than willing to collect some more data in order to resolve this issue.

Thanks.

I have had that problem with Firefox in the past few days. It seems to happen more with media (YouTube) or midi files on certain sites. At least I think it might be Firefox. The machine doing that is a Win98SE machine. It might be coincidental or not. Sometimes it works, but others seem to go wacky. Sometimes I can get the task manager, other times it totally freezes and I have to unplug (control alt delete won't work.)

Does it lock up on the same sites, or different sites?

What if you use ie, does it still lock up? If not, then try waiting a few days to see if FF comes with an update.

Thanks for the replies. Here are the answers to your questions.
[LIST=1][*]The web site visited does not matter[*]The system appears more stable with IE but does still lock-up[*]I have been trying my best to keep FF updated
  1. Total lock-up. No task manager, no keyboard or mouse
