32 or 64 Bit Windows XP for Gaming machine
Hey guys,
I'm building an E8500 based gaming rig with 4 gigs of ram. It will be used for gaming 95% of the time. I am wondering if I should use 32-bit or 64-bit Windows XP Pro? I know there is some sort of issue when you have 4GB of ram installed in 32-bit XP. Which will give me better performance in games? Also how is the driver support currently for XP 64-Bit? Thanks guys. -DCN |

If you're sticking with xp, i would just get the 32bit. Driver support for xp 64 hasn't been known to be too good.

There might be, but I personally wouldn't bother. Just let xp 32 use all it can. It should be more than enough.
If you're really concerned, you might want to consider Vista 64. |

Nah, vista would use the extra gig and then some to run all of it's BS.
If no one knows of any hacks to let XP 32-bit recognize 4-gigs of ram, ill just live with whatever it recognizes. |
