Copying Audio CD
The instructions in my copy of the Microsoft "How to copy music to and from an audio CD in Windows XP" (kb-297018) dated April 29, 2004 is more likely obsolete. Can anyone provide me the latest instruction on how to copy audio CDs? Also, can anyone show me how I to make an audio CD from an audio tape. I have a boom box with two Bose speakers which I'm using as my audio system.
Thanks |

im not sure why the instructions would be obsolete. XP hasnt changed. Did the instructions not work? Using windows media player, you rip the audio cd. You can also use any multi-media player, like iTunes, Real Player, etc. To make a CD from a cassette tape, you need something like this

I use my cassette deck and Audacity (free) to rip cassettes to the hard drive. You need a set of cables to go from the line-out on the deck to the line-in on your sound card.
If all you want to do is direct copy audio CD's, buy CloneCD. |

I use Nero for copying CDs and other stuff. And Audacity is a brilliant programme!

I also use a cassette deck and Audacity on my pc with a line-in to put some tapes on cd. Not as good as Pro-Tools, but the price is right!

Nero has problems copying copy-protected media. You have to use something like CloneCD or rip and reburn to be successful.
