New MB
Hi: I need to replace my MB & processor. Will the HKEY_LOCAL-MACHINE\Enum removal work in Win. XP or will I need to re-format.? I did it several times in 98SE & ME and it worked great.

New MB & Processor
Hi: I couldn't wait, just had to get going. Win.XP wouldn't let me delete out the Enum so I just installed the new MB(Abit K7 W/ 1gb. Thunderbird)and booted up. Xp said I need to re-register so I clicked OK. 30 seconds later it said OK, good for go. XP detected all of the new stuff without a hitch. No duplicates in device manager.I didn't even have to type in my product code number. All is well.

For all problems so far, it still seems like a lot to like about XP. I plan on installing it on a new build later this month. Will probably be some time before I abandon this PC and WIN98 though.
