A strange observation

Today I logged into the XP64 default administrator account to format an external drive I had plugged in. While it was formatting, I hit Switch User so I could do a few word processing things in my other account. When I was done there, I logged out of that account and back into the default administrator account to check the progress of my drive formatting operation.

The first thing I noticed was that before Windows presented me with the desktop of the account I logged into, my monitor showed that black screen with that message in the middle that says "Off mode in 5 seconds..."

Kinda weird. I did not expect to see that by just switching accounts. When Windows placed me back at the default administrator account and I was looking at disk management the lower part of the window was light green. Really queer. Instead of the normal Windows grey it was light green.

I had to leave for several hours so I just let Windows format the drive. When I returned home and looked at disk management the green was gone and now it was the normal grey.

I hit Switch User several times just to observe any weirdness. I did not see any green anywhere but it appears that every time I hit Switch User or log off and into another account I see that black screen and the monitor says "Off mode in 5 seconds..."

Of course the monitor does not actually shut off. Windows does boot me into the other user account, but isn't it a little weird to see that screen in the first place?

I'm using an nVidia XP64 driver for my EVGA GeForce 8800GT Graphics Card.

I tried a driver from the EVGA site which is still an nVidia driver but an older version. When I switch users the monitor screen message still shows. Perhaps it's supposed to. I really can't recall whether this was also present in XP32.
