Server 2003 HDD repartion
Hello All,
I am working on a Dell Poweredge 1900 and am getting low drive space errors on one of the partions....is it suitable to use an aftermarket software solution to increase the partition size or am I looking at a backup and reformat/repartioning? If an aftermarket software solution is suitable, what do you reccomend? Thank you |

Did you look to see if there's stuff you can remove off the partition?
Keep in mind that even the Best partition re-sizer can kill the machine. One little burp and the drive can become toast...So backup important data

I just ran disk cleanup on it to free up some space, but the backup failed last night - because of the low drive space. They have a tape backup which runs nightly - it takes about 4 hours to complete the backup. I have googled partioning soft ware and found some by Easeus (Partition Manager) - just wondering if anyone had used it.

Just an update - they deleted some files on the C:\ drive, which made the low disc warning go away....however, the back ups failed again. Error messages centered around missing files and directories.........probably because they deleted them to make room on the drive....they probably should have increased the partition size....
