So I got Windows XP x64, have questions
I got a wonderful birthday present, a supercomputer. Amazing processor, huge amount of ram, etc. But I also got Windows XP x64 bit with it.
I have some questions. First of all it says that there is an emulator that can run all my 32 bit programs which comes with it. So I dont have to worry about standard software right? I guess I will see with experience. My real question is Internet Explorer. It comes with IE-7, the OS does. I cannot stand IE-7. I would like to install IE-6, but I cant find it for 64 bit systems. Can anyone help me out? I will have more questions later I'm sure so I will ask them here. |

Thank you. The only thing I dont quite understand is where do I put the folder containing these dll and etc files? Can I overwrite IE-7 or will this IE-6 be a seperate browser that I can use with IE-7 at the same time?

Also does anyone know of a guide for new users of 64 bit Windows. What are the benefits, what problems can I expect. Is it worth it?
Thanks. Eh sorry for the double post, it somehow happened this way. |

For the most part - a typical user can't see - feel - or taste any difference between a 32 and 64 bit OS. If you're familiar with XP 32 bit - you're home free.
