SBS 2003 and Microsoft Exchange

I am troubleshooting a Small Business Server 2003 installation, where the Exchange email is not working....the client computers are using POP3 individually accessing the ISP's server to send and receive email......how do I correct what is wrong and set up the network (5-10 client computers) so they use Exchange properly? Would I use the server management tool to "repair internet and email settings" ?

You didn't mention what is wrong with the setup
Did it ever work and then stop working?

When the client computers try to send and receive email from thier stations in outlook 2003 and outlook 2007 they have to go into the options on outlook and select POP3 - when they select Exchange, the email does not send/receive properly.........

Doesn't send properly or doesn't send at all? Is there an error message that could be googled?

Thank you for the replies thus far - I think I understand the problem better now so I can explain it better...here goes.....what they want to do is is start receiving their Pop3 email now that is directed to off site servers at GoDaddy on their server and use Microsoft Exchange - which for what ever reason did not work correctly, or became inoperable...so, do I think that what I need to do is use the repair internet and email settings wizard in the SBS to accomplish this:

When their email comes into the primary DNS server IP address at Time Warner, I need to route it to the Ip address at their server through Exchange, instead of the IP address at Godaddy....is this theory correct?

It sound like originally exchange was handling e-mail for your domain, but then broke some how.
So someone changed the MX record in DNS to point to GO-Daddy's email servers and now you want to change it back.

If thats the case, then all you should have to do is change the MX record in the primary dns server to point back to your exchange server.

But that would be after you fix the exchange problem.

Thank you for the reply - as you have probably gathered, I am new to Server 2003 and am trying to learn - feel like I am drinking from a firehose! I have William Stanek's book, Windows Server 2003 - Inside Out- and am googling/reading voraciously......can you give me some detailed instructions as how to proceed?

I have to go to a meeting this morning, so i might not get right back, but I will check in as soon as possible - thanks again to you all
