Left-over files? or something else?
My 500g HD is currently unused w/ nothing in it. Just the other day I checked it out randomly and discovered a folder labeled "93dd6beaaa9fa47e036a2bad" in it. Further clicking and revealed 2 more folders in it and w/in them are .dll files and some other files.
I googled the names of the .dll and one, two relevant threads reported that they could be left-over from MS updates and such. So anyone has any idea on this? like should I just delete it. 93dd6beaaa9fa47e036a2bad/: /amd64/filterpipelineprintproc.dll .../msxpsdrv.cat .../msxpsdrv.inf .../msxpsinc.gpd .../msxpsinc.ppd .../mxdwdrv.dll .../xpssvcs.dll /i386/ .../Contains the exact same files as amd64. Same names and everything. Thanks, and I cant pin-point when these folders were created nor what updates and such. |

Going to guess you're using XP and the date on the folder will match the date you installed SP3.

I dont think I've installed Sp3 yet.
But I did installed .NET framwork 3.5 few days ago. You think that has to do w/ these files/folders? |

What's the date on the folder
![]() Some MS app left the files behind..Win updates and Office do it all the time. Dot Net could have easily done it too. |

Same dates as when I installed .NET 3.5, Jan 12
Other than that, the only other time is the 9th. And most of those are regular XP update stuffs, if you can say that. So I guess left-over from the .NET? |

something similar happened to me,
after updating network 3.5 these same files \amd64 \amd64\filterpipelineprintproc.dll \amd64\msxpsdrv.cat \amd64\msxpsdrv.inf \amd64\msxpsinc.gpd \amd64\msxpsinc.ppd \amd64\mxdwdrv.dll \amd64\xpssvcs.dll \i386 \i386\filterpipelineprintproc.dll \i386\msxpsdrv.cat \i386\msxpsdrv.inf \i386\msxpsinc.gpd \i386\msxpsinc.ppd \i386\mxdwdrv.dll \i386\xpssvcs.dll were left not on the disk my Windows is on, but on another disk without any system files, only for storage, leaving me with two problems : can i delete these dll files without any consequences and how can i avoid that MS accesses my storage disks, i don't want any system files there, MS shouldn't invade those locations without my consent, many thanks for any advice or comments |
