Internet not connecting...?

A few nights ago my internet connection in Win2K started saying "There was no answer", it worked the next morning

Last night it started saying it again FOR ALL OF MY CONNECTIONS. It's real strange, the connections work in Windows 98 (which I am using now, argh )

Any ideas if I've messed up something?

Oh, they have worked about twice in about 100 tries, so it's not as if they are TOTALLY disabled, but I really don't know what's wrong with them

Thanks,

I know that with w-98 if you remove and reinstall dial up networking, that sometimes works.

Sometimes? Ok thanks I'll give it a go

Can I just add, the modem goes through the whole strange noise bit (this must be AFTER the ISP has initialised the call right) but then cuts me off just before checking my password with "There was no answer"

Strange... thanks anyway,
