boot trouble in xp

I have a PC that dual boots XP pro and W982nd ed.
It is partitioned with Partition Magic, and uses Boot magic to set the boot default.
It just started not booting into XP (default). It just keeps going on the loop of start with option to go into BIOS,
-boot screen 98 or XP (Boot Magic option), the window boot screen with options to safe mode, safe mode with betworking... last known good config.... start normally.
And that loop keeps repeating. I have tried the safe mode and all the rest. It will boot into W98.
Any Ideas?
Thanks
B

And now for something new. Doing the repair, it does a reboot, and goes to a safe mode screen, where it tells me that it can not setup in safe mode and will now restart the setup.
And now this is a loop.
I've never got a PC stuck in safe mode
