Os Selection glitch?

Hey guys

Lat night, I decided to try and setup a Dual OS thingie on my computer. I originally have and use XP Pro SP3, and I had a vista ultimate disc upstairs. I had used vista before but didn't like it much last night.

Anyway, my HDD is like 75GB. The C partition where my XP Pro is, was like 35GB used up, this is my main partition with all my music, videos, and files on it. I partitioned my HDD so I now had a C drive of like 50gb and I allocated my new partition, E, about 10GB

I installed Vista on E, no problems. After about an hour I just kind of realized "Why am I doing this?" So, I wanted to take Vista back off E and repartition my HDD

So, I booted up in XP Pro, went to the E Drive directly in explorer, and formatted. I don't know if this completely got rid of vista, because when I boot up it keeps asking me do I want to boot in Vista or XP Pro. Even tho the partition Vista was on no longer exists and my HDD is back to one partition

If I choose Vista on startup it just gives me an error, XP works fine tho, which is what I want. I tried editing the boot.ini via the "Startup and Recovery" menu. I disabled "Time to display list of Operating Systems". I ran a run command and executed msconfig, and even checked "Check all boot paths", and it says its fine

ARRGH, why does the OS Selection keep showing up on my Boot Up? I only have one OS, I want to boot straight into XP! Any help is greatly appreciated

I don't think that's going to work - you have to get rid of the Vista bootloader.

Boot with your XP CD and use the recovery console - run FIXBOOT and FIXMBR.
