Is Windows 2000 a safe OS to use?
My wife was given a company laptop a number of years ago (it was supplied with XP but was replaced with 2000 by her company) so she can work from home. It has never been replaced.
Recently her credit card was found to be fraudulently used on numerous occasions by unknown whoever or whatever. She admits that the majority of transactions done using her credit card are through the internet on her laptop. Since Microsoft no longer supplies updates to Windows 2000, can this be regarded as a safe operating system to use? P.S. Her company don't seem to mind as all her work is done through a VPN.

![]() They quit adding new updates a few years back but you can still get what's available. SP4 was the last major service pack and there were many updates after that.

Microsoft is still putting out critical updates for Win2K on Patch Tuesday.
