Multiple 'add/remove programs' icons

I've just run across a computer that once you open it's Windows control panel, you find 3 each 'add/remove programs' icons.

Clicking on any of the three will open the same correct list of programs installed and each will function properly for for removing while the program list is opened from any of the three icons.
Meaning, each icon is fully functional.

Is there a way to properly or safely delete 2 of the 3? Or will/would/could there be possible future problems?

LW

Search the C:\Windows\System32 folder for *.cpl

APPWIZ.cpl is the shortcut to open add/remove...Maybe you'll see appwiz(2).cpl and appwiz(3).cpl which can be deleted....Proceed with caution.

Thanks for a confirmation of thoughts.

And your right, proceed with caution.
