Question Can't access internet or drives.

I don't know where to post. I hope this is the right place. If not please direct me to the proper thread.

Recently I booted up my computer and I was getting an error message from Norton that said auto protect experienced and unexpected error and gave the error code 0x800705B4 and a link to click on for support info. The anti-virus wasn't working and neither was the firewall. I was also getting another one stating that I needed to register. When I clicked the link on the error message for support info my Firefox browser just continually had the circle circulating. It never connected. I tried IE. Same thing. So I decided to to turn off the modem and just burn a DVD that I copied for the time being but it wouldn't show the screen that shows your files to navigate to. I also noticed that if I click on "my computer" it just has the flashlight continually searching and never shows my drives, etc. I was also getting a message from Windows Defender that a there was a command line error or someting like that and it needed to close.

I can click on "my control panel" and if I click on "Network Connections" it wasn't showing anything in the folder. It was blank and gave a message...I forgot what it said but, I Googled it and found something to try which was to bring up the command line and type regsvr32 netshell.dll and hit enter, then type regsvr32 netcfgx.dll and hit enter and then regsvr32 netman.dll and hit enter and reboot. I did so and that brought my icons in the folder back. However I was still not getting connected to the internet and getting those messages from Norton and all the rest I mentioned. I Googled some more stuff on my other computer by the T.V. and decided to put in my Windows XP CD and do a repair so that it can replace anything that might have gone missing or corrupt. A message came up at one point that said, The File 'nvnetbus.sys on NVIDIA Network Bus Installation Disc# 1 is needed. I didn't know what to do. It was asking me to navigate to the file it is in and click ok. I put in my motherboard disc thinking it might be asking for files on that. Nothing. So I just canceled that part and continued on. When it was all done, I put my motherboard disc in again and installed the drivers again. I'm still getting the same problems and now I can't even bring up the Nero interface. Whaaaaa! What the heck is going on? I'm trying to job hunt and need to access my resume and cover letters pronto as I am out of $$$. I thought I'd copy it to disc and bring it to the other computer but I can't even send the files to the D:\ drive.

Now my Windows and motherboard don't have all the updates they had 'cause of the repair and still have the same problem.

It seems like the drivers that access the internet and disc drives aren't working or something. Please help me. I'm am at a loss on what to do. Also I had previously done scans with Ad-aware, Malwarebytes, Windows Defender, Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool, Spybot Search and Destroy, SUPERantispyware and Norton Anti-Virus and nothing was found but some cookie stuff if I remember correctly.
