Out Of Memory

When I attempt to burn a backup of a DVD the burn goes for less than a minute and ejects the disc. I get an "Out of Memory" error.
XP (32 Bit)--Intel 7300 CPU-- 4 GB (2 X 2)of PC6400 RAM

Do you by any chance have the pagefile disabled? If so, turn it back on.

I removed the 4GB (2 X2) and replaced then w/ 2GB (1 X 1) and all is well.
The 2X2 sticks are OCZ Gold PC6400. I've never been too happy with them since they were installed.

NI, when you've swapped memory, do you adjust the Page file? I always set min and max to 3 times the installed ram. I realize that's a lot of hdd space for 4Gb of ram (12Gb page file) but it eliminates page file fragmentation and stops the errors you just experienced. If you increase or decrease the ram, adjust the page file min and max settings.

I always set the Page File to 1.5 X the RAM. I'll put the 4G back and adjust it to 3X and see how it goes. The odd thing is, it worked fine for several weeks.

No luck with changing the Page File settings. I did a lot of searching on the net about the problem and it seems Nero 7 is the culprit. Other burning softwares have no problem with the 4 GB of RAM.

Nero 7 Ultimate here also. The kicker is, I've had the 4 GB in for over a month and I've burned 20+ movies with no problems???

Try http://www.imgburn.com/

I use that to burn my dvd's, and never had a problem caused by having 4gb of ram.

I also had nero installed at the same time, but just used imgburn.

I have several other burning softwares that work but I prefer to use Recode for backing up DVD's. I'll live with the 2G of RAM.

You can't make a pagefile larger than 4095kb. It won't let you.
