File Names

Hi, I am running XP. I have had instances in either transferring files or even saving them on this system and then trying to open them (WAV in this case) where it either says the file name is too long or invalid. Why would it save this way, but then say it isn't valid, and what can I do? I would like to keep the names as is if there is a setting I can change. Thanks.

Did you try to rename the file? rename it, it should work.

It appears that it might be because of a long path to get to it (file folders within file folders) as apparently Windows looks at the entire path as a name. What a pain.

There is a 255 character path length limit.
