Don't have the standby or hibernation option

So I reinstalled a fresh copy of XP in my moms laptop for her. Its a Toshiba sat 2415-s205.

In the begining I had the option to setup hibernation, but after all the updates its not there. in the power options I dont have a box to check that would give me standby or hibernation. When you click on the start menu and go shutdown I only have restart and shutdown as options.

Could you guys point me in the right direction?

thanks.

Check the Toshiba utilities, when you installed them they probably took over from Windows.

Sounds like not all drivers are installed - such as the chipset drivers.

I found out what it was from some searching around on the internet. They said to run a different driver for the monitor. I tried a different one and it worked. Weird.
