outlook express 6, closes

Hi,
I am running xp sp3 with OE 6. Frequently, but not every time, when I open oe, I get the message, Outlook express has encountered a problem and needs to close. It closes, I re-open and it is fine and doesn't close again. I have all the current windows updates. I have run avast av scan, super antispyware, malwarebytes, spybot, system defrag and registry mechanic scan. Any thoughts on what to try next? I have googled this problem and see lots of "programs" for fixing OE, are any of these what they claim to be?
Thanks,
Frasher

Clean up your Inbox - delete what you don't need - move everything else into a set of save folders, empty the trash folder, then compact all folders.

Okay, I did all of the above and no change. It seems to close when downloading mail. But, not every time. I sent myself an e-mail and, of course, it didn't close. FYI, I have two e-mail addresses and the other one works fine. There is also another identity of this pc and they aren't having any oe problems. Should I get rid of the saved folders?

Save your mail folders (.dbx files) for that identity somewhere safe. Delete the identity, then create a new one. Then import the folders back in.

Okay these OE .dll Files:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 shdowcvw.dll
regsvr332 browseui.dll
regsvr32 msjava.dll

To register them > open Run and type "regsvr32 urlmon.dll" and hit enter.
Again repeat register second one, third one
If still your Outlook express not work properly, then you need to repair Outlook Express.
