Service pack 2 instalation access denied!

Hi there,
I'm having problems installing 'Windows xp service pack two', the instalation all seems to go ok, right up until the end of the instalation, when I receive a captioned warning message. ACCESS DENIED
I would appreciate any ideas.

thanks Steve

back on line

Hi there,

Just wanted to say thanks for the information, unfortunately the PC got to the stage where I couldn't even enter safe mode, all the restore points had been wiped out, and after trying all different ways of fixing the problem, I finally reinstalled my sp2 slipstreamed version of windows xp and after the reinstalation, the problem had gone, I was able to create a new restore point and get back to normal.

thanks Steve
