Wİndows xp bootup stuck
Hello, I am a beginner on these forums, but think unfortunately I have an expert problem (hopefully not!)
First off, I own a 26-month-old Fujitsu Lifebook T-series with an intel centrino duo processor that runs Windows XP. I was playing I-Tunes and it starts repeating the same moment over and over. CTRL-ALT-DEL wouldn't work so I had to turn it off. When I turn it back on, I get: We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your files and folders, choose Last Known Good Configuration to revert to the most recent settings that worked. If a previous startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the Power or Reset button was pressed, or if you aren't sure what caused the problem, choose Start Windows Normally. Safe Mode Safe Mode with Networking Safe Mode with Command Prompt Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked) Start Windows Normally Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice. Seconds until Windows starts: 30 No matter which option I choose, I next see the Windows XP icon and the blue cursor running below it repeatedly. It will not go past this stage. I have no mouse, USB plug-ins, or CDs in my drive. So far, I have tried taking out the battery and putting it back in after 5 minutes but that hasn't worked. What can I do? (p.s. I really, really do not want to have to reinstall Windows as I have a lot of important stuff on my hard drive). Thanks! |

Unfortunately, you may be experiencing a hard drive failure. Before you do anything else, it would be wise to remove the hard drive, connect it to another computer with a USB adapter, and save your important data. Then you can reinstall the drive and proceed with a diagnostic procedure.
