windows registry

Hi-

Is there a site where I can check "key" descriptions for the windows registry in Windows XP?
I am wondering *** is HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Cerberus.CerberusCDPlayer and if it is safe to delete.

Thank you.

If you google CerberusCDPlayer you'll probably get the impression it's belongs to AOL...

Are you using AOL? And or did you install the player?

I thought AOL was gone from my system but apparently the blood sucker likes to stick around! This PC was from a previous user which did use AOL. I am going to delete HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Cerberus.CerberusCDPlayer and see what happens! : ) thank god for system restore.

It would be a good idea to back up the registry first, also.

Why do you think you need to delete that key?

Personally, I'd just run Ccleaner instead. If it's a dead link to a program that's not installed anymore, Ccleaner will find that and take care of the registry problem for you. No wondering if it's okay to delete or not that way.
