msconfig in Win2k
Hi all,
I've been supplied with a spare comp at work for a one-off project. The OS is Win2k, and in trying to clean it up (and speed it up !) I wanted to run MSConfig, but couldn't find it. So the question is, does MSConfig normally exist in Win2k ? If it does, I presume that an earlier administrator chose not to install it. BTW I was able to find and run cleanup, defrag etc., which some administrators choose not to make available to users. Would I be able to go online and install MSConfig from Mircosoft? I have admin rights on the machine. Any thoughts gratefully recieved. Thanks, Chris |

Nope, no native msconfig in Win2K but there is a way. Just copy and paste the msconfig file from an XP machine into a usb drive and install it in the Windows file on the 2000 machine.

Thanks Panama,
I presume you mean just paste into the main Windows folder? Cheers, Chris |
