Image/Display Issue

Can anyone shed any light on why ALL Image Search Engines refuse to display thumbnails when I do a search yet ALL other sites I visit display thumbnails without fault. If I Ctrl Click on the blank thumbnail, a new tab opens up and I am able to view the image that way but I would prefer to see the image before I click on it, just in case it is something I don't wish to view or a dangerous site.

I am running XP Home SP2. I was using SP3 but thought it may have been the problem so I reformatted but it made no difference. Firefox, Safari Opera & IE all refuse to display thumbnails on Search Engines.

I have Java, Shockwave & Flash installed. I was using AVG 8 Free version but removed & installed Avast Home edition. Still no change. I have an ASUS EAH3450 GPU, ASUS P5LD2 Motherboard, Intel P4 3GHz CPU, 1GB Corsair DDR2 RAM & use Zone Alarm Firewall.

It's only a minor issue I know, but I do a lot of image searches (well used to) & I would like to get it sorted out.

Have you tried uninstalling Zone Alarm?

I haven't uninstalled Zone Alarm but I did shut it down for a short time while image surfing & it made no difference. After a reformat I went back to a previous version of Zone Alarm which, at the time was allowing thumbnails to be shown but now it makes no difference. At the bottom left of screen, just above the Start Button "Waiting for clients1.google.com" appears. After about 2 minites the thumbnails are blank & the message reads "Done".

When I do a standard Web Search from Google or Yahoo, if there are any thumbnails on the page, they show up. They just won't on image searches.

Please UNINSTALL (not just disable) Zone Alarm as part of your troubleshooting process.

If you have a router, you don't need it anyway. The Windows firewall is adequate.

If you have a router, have you rebooted it and your modem?

The modem has been reset & a fresh install of the Ethernet drivers was also done.

I uninstalled Zone Alarm, Restarted the pc & tried half a dozen image searches but the problem still remains.
