Saving Updates

Didn't see a spot in other forums so here goes. Is there a way to save all the gillion updates for XP so when I reinstall the OS I don't have to spend half a day downloading all the updates to way back yonder?

I use a tool called autopatcher.

You download the little app, run apup.exe, then select which OS, and the updates are downloaded. The autopatcher.exe app is responsible for installing the updates. Note that if you're a few months behind, you may need to run the installation twice to make sure all the updates are installed, since some are dependant on one another.

This app makes it much, much easier for OS installations.

All the hotfix files are downloaded from microsoft, so they are the official files, and not doctored.

Food for thought: Make an image of the drive after you reinstall XP and all the updates and all ofther applications. When you feel the need to reinstall, hook up the other drive

Make sure you use a slipstreamed XP disc with the last Service Pack released. That will certainly help reduce the number of updates you have to install.
