Windows going wacky
Hi guys, thanks for reading my query.
What has happened is that last night I was playing a game and I spilt a glass of water on the computer table. As a result of that now Windows XP acts really weird. I am assuming maybe the water might have leaked into the keyboard and mouse. When clicking on application icons on the desktop its like as if the shift button is stuck or something because when I click on more and more icons they just accumulate up and all become highlighted. Instead of one by one highlighting. If I double click to open an application its brings up the "properties" option instead of opening the application and even when searching the "start" menu the highlighted option randomly goes between alternate applications and is not still. I can't possibly open an application because the left click does not register either (but right click does)and if I do manage to get into a game when pressing esc to bring up the menu the game crashes (this part does not sound related to the keyboard or mouse having water instead it because of actually just having different commands stuck its actually crashing my desktop and getting stuck instead of just "ending task". From the sounds so far you'd think, simple, just replace the mouse and keyboard but the part that got me is that before I spilt the water on the keyboard for the last 2 weeks I have had to unplug and replug back in the power point to get the computer to actually switch on, is this a coincidence or related? Thank you for your time, I realize this is a little long winded but I had to explain the circumstances. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
