XP 32 bit to XP 64 bit?

Im a hardcore XP fan and im thinking of giving xp 64 bit a shot since im not happy with the RAM limitations of XP 32. however, the only articles or reviews i can find for xp 64 and compatibility issues are years old. So i figured id ask: Just how bad, if bad at all, are compatibility issues for window XP64? is it actually as stable as people claim it to be? For someone who loves xp and hates vista, could this be a potential solution to the RAM cap?

p.s. I intend to use the computer mostly for gaming (bioshock, assassins creed, mass effect, crysis, etc) with some Acid Pro 7 and Alcohol 120% mixed in.

AMD Phenom 9600 Quad core 2.3 Ghz
4GB DDR2 1066 OCZ Reaper RAM
Gigabyte MA78G-DS3HP Motherboard
ATI Radeon HD4870 1GBVram Video card

I would stick to xp 32 if you only have 4gb ram.

I've heard that the problem with xp 64 is their driver situation. Now, if you can find drivers for everything you have and will use, then it could work, but I personally wouldn't bother upgrading just for that.

Remember, official support for XP ended in april, so after that, all we get are critical security hotfixes...no new drivers/content/features/etc.

XP 64 was basically an experiment. It worked, but not to the degree of what most users would be satisfied with.

Overall, you'd probably be losing more than you'd be gaining.
