win xp fails to boot
issue : winxp hangs on "welcome" screen--no hdd activity..comput just stops..
discussion: Prostar PIII-1000 cpu 396 ram 20 gbhdd with winxp sp-2. Ran fine until this am when comput hung on web radio station music...rebooted--and now hangs on the winxp welcome screen...played with some settings in "msconfig"--i disabled the bootgui and it now boots--but i dont trust it!! needed action: can sumone tell/link me-to a basic procedure for troubleshooting "no boot-hangs" winxp issue! runs normally in "safe" mode" suspect it is a driver but dont know how to diagnose. many thanx!!! |

Do a system restore back to before it locked up.
