System Restore - Windows XP

Hello,

Any guidance on how Accessories - SystemTools - System Restore feature works?

When you restore your system to an earlier date, say, a month ago, what about the data (videos, music, text etc) that you saved during this month, is it preserved or you lose it?
The changes are done only in the registry?

Thanks.

The only changes that are made are to the system files and any programs or updates that may have been installed after the selected restore date.
All personal files are left completely intact.
