Windows Explorer has encountered a problem???
I get that window popping up ONLY when i open my "videos" folder. then it shuts my "video" window down. it does not close anything else down. I opened the "videos" window and didnt do anything in it (scrolling, selecting a file, opening one etc.) I did NOT get that message. the very second i try to scroll the error window pops up. what the heck do i do.
sorry I am running XP

What video file types are they? What video player are you using?

it dosent happen when i try to play them, it happens when i simply try to scroll down by grabbing the scroll bar. the second I even click on the scroll bar to grab it and scroll down the error pops up.
I use windows media player and there are a few different types of video files but mostly mindows media files Oh and I can play the files and everything else but the error pops up everytime. |

Does this happen with any other folder? or just this one?
Try changing the view to 'list' rather than 'thumbnails' or 'details'. Have you run malware and virus scans on the folder? |

It takes a lot of processing to render the thumbnails. Maybe the thumbs.db file in that folder is corrupt.

How many files do you have in the folder? how big is the folder?
Do any of your video players start when Windows starts up? |

there is 75 videos and 275 MB total.
no player starts up when the window is opened as far as the thumbs.db file is concerned I have no clue about that or where to start to fix it? I can hang with the folder the way it is, I am just curious as to why this is happening and just want to fix it "just because" if ya know what i mean. |

Show hidden and system files, and you should see a thumbs.db file in the folder. Delete it. It will recreate next time you open that folder in thumbnail view.
