Cannot click on links

When I am on a web site like Kim KKomando or Virtual Dr. I cannot click on the links anymore like I used to. I get an error messege like

http://video.komando.co/2009/06/19/ames-window Application not found

This just started a couple of days ago. anyone know how to fix? TIA........Gary

I am using Windows XP with SP3 and IE8. can anyone help? If you need more info just ask.

Websites are still adapting to IE8 - have you tried using FF or other alternative browsers? Additionally, the link above gives me the standards 404 (Page not Found) message - is that what you're referring to?

No the the link is not the standard 404 error. It is a box that says "application not found" When PCMech sent me an e mail that you had replied i clicked on it and it gave me the same error message "application not found"

Do you think it could be IE8?

Loads just fine if you change .co to .com.............................
