start menu and task bar on right hand side and can't move to bottom
Some how my start button and task bar moved to the right side of my screen and I can't get it back to the bottom. I don't know how it happened. I googled the issue and none of the solutions worked.
Taskbar was/is already unlocked. Can't left click (anywhere) and drag to bottom. Can only expand and contract from side to side. Is there another solution besides the 'unlock and then left click and drag to bottom' solution? Should I have posted this in another forum? Thanks

Windows XP
Sorry, I should have included that info.
I have Windows XP. Also, I have no idea what I did to make this happen. Thanks |

What happens when you try to drag it. If you have not installed any programs lately you could do a restore to get it back.

Hi,
nothing happens when I try to drag it. I left clicked all over the blue areas. There are some small white dotted lines (running horizontally within the blue area) that I can drag up and down but that's it. When I place the cursor over the white lines I get the small double black arrow (typical). I haven't installed anything lately. This just happened late today. Sorry about the double post. I posted in the General forum first before posting here. I thought it might be the wrong area after I posted. I know it's bad etiquette...my bad. |

Click on the left-most part of the taskbar, and drag it to the bottom. While doing so, you'll notice that the taskbar will expand, but ignore that and simply drag your cursor downwards. Adjust the size of the taskbar to the height desired, then make sure you lock your toolbar.

Hi,
Well I finally got it. I had clicked and draged on the very left side and edge yesterday and nothing happened. It was one of the solutions that came up when I first googled the issue. Today I did it again and nothing. I then expanded the taskbar all the way to the left as far as it would go (It took up about half of my screen). Then I tried the click and drag on the left edge and it worked. Maybe it has to be expanded completely to do the click and drag thing. I spent an hour clicking and dragging yesterday but without expanding it all the way. Anyway it's fixed!..and yes I locked it after I got it to the bottom. I locked it real good and I Duct taped too!...remember Duct tape fixes everything! Thanks Kram and every one else! TGF Techies!
