Unhappy chaos after trying to install IE8

I have several problems after trying to install IE8. The first noticeable problem was every time i tried to do anything an info frame came on to say either run without add-ons or with. if you choose open with add-ons another info came on to say internet explorer has encountered a problem and has to close. I tried to uninstall Ie8 and go back to IE7, which was working fine, but Sp3 wouldn't let me. This is worst problem and if I solve the Why.The other problems will clear up.

First, run a malware scan. Things tend to attach themselves to IE.

Second, in IE8, go to tools > manage add-ons. What sorts of things do you have there for the add-ons and toolbars?

Lastly, IE8 should be listed in add/remove programs. Does it give an error message when you try to uninstall?

Go to add/remove programs and uninstall it. Either that or do a system restore back to a date before you installed it.

I went to control add or remove programs. told it to remove IE8. the wizard went through the motions and say IE8 was gone. Guess what? I went to windows programs and it is still there.

Sure it's not IE7? The interfaces are somewhat similar. Go to Help > About just to make sure.
