Profile Storage Space

Hi All:

I have a round red dot with a white X in the center next to the clock, it says "Profile Storage Space", and that I've exceeded it by 30531KB.

It tells me, "You have exceeded your profile storage space. Before you can log off you need to move some items from your profile to network or local storage"

Size Information
Current profile size: 40545 KB
Maximum profile size 10240 KB

It won't let me reboot the computer.

AVG found a virus C:\WINDOWS\System32\ws_2.dll, and it don't want to get rid of it. I was able a couple of times to move it to the Virus Vault and delete it, but it keeps showing up again.

I don't know if the virus and the storage message are related.

I looked at the ws2_32.dll and it looks like it belongs to Microsoft, so I didn't try removing it.

Any thoughts on whats going on?

Appreciate your help, and thanks ahead of time.

Read the bottom post - make sure you do not have the indicated malware - which Malwarebytes can find and get rid of - and then run the registry edit indicated.

Hi EzyStvy: What's the name of this application, what link?

glc: I have run Malwarebytes and it didn't find anything, I copied the code to Notepad and named it fix.reg

I need more guidance here, I tried to download the Spyware Removal Download, at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malw...e-protect-2009 ,
but it don't work, nothing happened when I clicked on it.

Hope you can walk me through this step by step, as I'm a little slow :-(

Name the file as fix.reg, making sure save as type is set to " All Files ".
Double click it and an information box will pop up asking if you want to merge the information in the file into the registry, click yes.
Can you follow that?

Don't download Stopzilla - that's an AD. If Malwarebytes comes up CLEAN, all you need to do is fix your registry.
