System restore Problem

Have just come across a problem with restore, delete all but the last point, it does not work.
I can turn on and off restore, this does delete all points and i can then make a new one. Tried in safe mode, the same. This has happened since i lost restore mode altogether and i got that back by downloading and installing sr.inf file in system 32. Is there another file missing or any suggestions please?

The latest version of CCleaner allows you to selectively delete restore points. I gave up using XP Disk Cleanup a LONG time ago, CCleaner is much better.

You may have to do a sfc /scannow or a repair reinstall.

For anybody who has a similar problem here is what i used to fix it: Downloaded a reg entry file from http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files (Kellys corner 289 right hand column)
Now running 100% including showing up in CC cleaner where before there was nothing.
