Internet Explorer stalls out
Move this if you want Mods...I didn't know where to post this problem.
I rarely use IE, Opera is my primary browser, but for several months now I have had trouble. When I open IE, & click a web page link...it just sits there saying "waiting for http:web site of choice" in the progress bar at the bottom. I first noticed this several months ago when I was using IE 7, so I bit the bullet & installed IE 8, thinking that would resolve the issue. It did NOT...still does the same thing. On rare occasions IE will open & run fine, but very rare. I have NO problems surfing with Opera, including opening my hotmail email account. TIA |

Speeding Up Internet Explorer 8
http://windowsfixup.com/2009/03/spee...et-explorer-8/ Several users have reported significantly slower performance under Internet Explorer 8, particularly when the browser is first launched or when navigating to new pages. Delays of up to 30 seconds or more have been reported.

Thanks for the quick reply EzyStvy.
BTW: my problem is not IE loading slow...it would not load at all, it would stall for hours & never open a page. I ran the file from the link you gave me, and then tried opening IE...had the same thing. I closed IE, & Opera...went back to open IE, & BAMB, IE worked faster than ever. So I thought that Opera & IE weren't play nice with each other. But after several sessions with both open...IE seems to be working better than ever. Joy is here again...thanks! P.S. still don't know why it did not work the first time...I did not reboot...one of them there mysteries I guess. |
