Possible to get WinXP instead of Vista? Link below...
[MS WinXP Home 2002 - SP2; OE 6; IE 6; MS Office; Dell Dimension XPS T448MHz Pentium III; 384MB RAM; high speed cable; WordPerfect8; Lexmark Laser printer "Optra E310"; Windows Media Player; Adobe Reader 8; Adobe Flash Player 10 Activex..]
Hi, just saw this page at Dell's but don't understand exactly what one must do to get WinXP instead of Vista. I'm looking for a new computer (just the tower) but don't want Vista at all! Any ideas anyone? Thanks so much! Adelahttp://www.dell.com/us/en/home/winxp...dt&s=dhs&cs=19 |

From the link you posted:
"Your BONUS Kit will include a Windows® XP Professional back-up CD which will allow you to re-install or transition back to XP from Vista." When you get the machine and turn it on for the first time you will see Vista. You can then basically convert it to XP. It'll come with instuctions on how to proceed.

No, XP Pro will be preinstalled - and it will come with a Vista upgrade DVD.
