Blue screen keeps killing xp
I restarted my HP windows xp laptop today, and for some reason it decided it didn't want to start back up... so it blue screened in the middle of the start up, shut down, restarted, blue screened...
I've tried getting it to start up in safe mode, but that doesn't seem to work either. I love this computer. I can't believe it's doing this. I have no idea what's wrong, either. I run virus scans dayly and it's been virus free for months. Any ideas on what to do? |

This is what the blue screen says:
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time yo: Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration, and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer. Technical information: *** STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x85703bd8, 0xc0000102, 0x00000000)" |

You have a corrupt file system. It possibly could be caused by a dying hard drive. If you have a XP CD, boot with it and use the repair console - and run chkdsk /r. |
