Lost Recycle Bin

Can someone tell me how to restore my recycle bin to my desktop in XP? Saw a lot of how-to's in Vista, but not XP.

Thanks.

Download TweakUI.exe from here (about halfway down on the right):

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/D...powertoys.mspx

Install and run. Click Desktop and check the box next to "Recycle Bin".

Thanks. Downloaded, installed and ran. Unfortunately, no Recycle Bin box to check in the Desktop section - Just Internet Explorer, My Computer, My Documents and My Network Places.

What other options do I have?

Any idea what might have caused your Recycle Bin to disappear? Did you install or uninstall something to cause this? Have you been fighting a virus/malware?

Gilera, thanks. Unfortunately, neither of those fixes worked. Any other ideas that might be worth a try? :-(

Hi Gilera, thanks again for the help. Tried this latest (above), and still did not restore recycle bin.

I wonder if there is a way to manually add to the registry?

Hi all, I just found a MS page that solved the problem. For future readers, try:

This took care of things for me. Thanks to all for their help!
